Meandering through the Mountains

I have always been a lover of all things spiritual. When you grow up in the mountains of East Tennessee, it’s simply part of the day to day. While I don’t adhere to my religious upbringing, I honor the mystical roots which began there.

Additionally, I’m a self-help junkie. I lay that directly at the feet of Oprah and her show that opened the door to soul healing I never considered possible. Growing up in a DIY, working class family, therapy wasn’t part of my lexicon for much of my early adulthood.

I returned to college shortly after my mother died (just past my Saturn return). I was a 30-year-old working wife and mom of 2 who had struggled to finish 2 years of a 4-year degree. Mom’s death evicted me from my life, as Glennon Doyle calls it, and I spent the next 4 years beginning to connect my experience, and those of the women around me, to the cultural contexts in which we live.

I went on to teach college courses after graduation – women’s studies and communication studies – for the next 12 years and in varying degrees.I am, at heart, an entrepreneur. And, while teaching college was a beautiful experience, I thrive through supporting others in their personal development and healing work.

In 2011, I certified through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a health coach. I also completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training with Lydie Ometto. I’ve learned to follow where my soul leads. Over the years it’s led me to complete a facilitator training with author of the Playing Big program, Tara Mohr, Biddy Tarot’s 9-month Professional Tarot Certification course, astrology studies and courses with multiple incredibly talented teachers, including Donna Woodwell, and most recently, completing level 1 and 2 Human Design certification with VerDarLuz.

I invite you to connect with me – follow me on the socials if you wish. Or, even better, send me a message. Let’s schedule a time to connect in real time. Until then, much love and many blessings.
